RTMA Receives Workforce Development Grant to Kick Off 2024 National Apprenticeship Week

The Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association (RTMA) received a major workforce development grant from the New York State Department of Labor as a kickoff of National Apprenticeship Week. The RTMA received $195,000 towards its Direct Entry Pre-Apprenticeship Programs to skill and uptrain local advanced manufacturing employees.

The grants are part of a statewide $7 million program to support businesses, educational institutions, and non-profits in delivering programs focused on job readiness, closing skills gaps and career advancement. The awards also focus on programs that help those in underserved and underrepresented communities.

The RTMA was one of four recipients in the greater Rochester and Finger Lakes region to receive the award. RTMA member Eastman Kodak also received an award.
