RTMA Celebrates 8 Graduates of Precision Measurement Certificate Training Cohort

Rochester – The Rochester Technology & Manufacturing Association (RTMA) Friday celebrates the completion of its first-ever Precision Measurement Certificate Training Program. Participants received free, hands-on training with precision measurement instruments from Starrett, Snap-on and NC3 and received certifications for Tape and Rule Measurement and Slide Calipers. Participants also received basic safety training t prepare them for careers in advanced manufacturing, engineering, aerospace and more.

 

The RTMA partnered with Monroe Community College (MCC) to hold the two-week class at the Finger Lakes Workforce Development Center (FWD Center). Eight (8) students participated in this month’s class and will also receive opportunities for employment with RTMA members and other companies.

 

The RTMA and MCC plan on hosting additional precision measurement programs later this year. The Association and college also partner to host the 2nd annual Monroe County Advanced Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship Program in July which provides 96 hours of classroom instruction and up to 120 hours of paid on-the-job training over the course of six weeks.
