NYS Registered Apprenticeship Program
The RTMA’s Apprenticeship Program
The RTMA’s NYS Registered Apprenticeship Program provides individuals with an opportunity to "earn while they learn" by gaining hands-on training in advanced manufacturing trades. As the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes regional sponsor of the NYS Registered Apprenticeship Program, the RTMA partners with over 35 companies and supports more than 240 apprentices throughout the nine-county region. The program offers apprentices the ability to build skills and gain credentials that lead to successful manufacturing careers.
Program Benefits and Opportunities
Our programs offer numerous benefits, including hands-on experience, mentorship from industry professionals, and the opportunity to earn a competitive salary while training. Through an agreement with the NYS Department of Labor, the RTMA sponsors apprenticeships in more than 15 advanced manufacturing trades, removing significant administrative burdens for businesses. These partnerships ensure that apprentices are prepared for success, and employers can confidently recruit, retain, and train skilled, credentialed workers.
These programs are shaping the future of manufacturing in the Rochester and Finger Lakes region. By providing individuals with the skills and training needed for long-term success, the RTMA is helping to address the workforce needs of the industry. With ongoing partnerships and a commitment to expanding opportunities, the RTMA’s NYS Registered Apprenticeship Program continue to create pathways to high-quality manufacturing careers.
